Foreclosure in Pennsylvania is difficult under any circumstances. When that foreclosure comes just before the holidays and as the result of someone else's fraud, the stress can quickly become overwhelming. One Pennsylvania family currently calling a motel home has been astounded by the outpouring of support from community members looking to help.

Victims of a mortgage fraud, the couple lost their home to foreclosure, while the men accused of fraud are said to have earned more than $6 million by scamming 170 homeowners. The accused men are currently free on bond and awaiting trial.

The problems for the couple started when they were told a large down payment had already been made on their home, which turned out not to be true. They were also told major renovations had been completed, but the couple found that the work was faulty turning the couple's dream home into a money pit. Finally foreclosed upon, the couple could not find a place to rent due to their circumstances.

On Dec. 6, a local news station highlighted the family's plight. In the report, the family said they were just hoping for a place to rent over the holidays. Since then, calls have flooded the station offering a place for them to live for little or no money.

The offers to help received by the television station should go a long way in helping the family get back on their feet. Other Pennsylvania family's who are dealing with debt and possible foreclosure may first start by investigating what debt relief solutions may be available to them. People may find working with an attorney experienced in bankruptcy and other debt relief options to be invaluable.
